Steam Is The Story

Here's a shot of the weathervane atop the Coolidge Park carousel with afternoon storms in the background. When I took this picture, it looked like the top of the thunderstorm traced the outline of the horse's head. What do you think? Maybe I'm just crazy from the heat, which seems to be driving everyone crazy. Yesterday was a bit of a shocker. The low clouds started forming around 6 am, and they were hanging tough into early afternoon. With the northeast flow it felt pretty good early. But once the breaks appeared, the temps shot up quickly and we recorded 91 at Lovell Field. So with more sunshine we should be able to top out around 94 this afternoon. And both today and tomorrow it will be tough for outdoor workers as it will feel like the upper 90s for most of the afternoon. A slight chance for some scattered storms this weekend, but mainly Sunday. And your best friend will be your air conditioner for at least the next week. Hug a heating and air guy......they're working through this heat to keep you cool. Go ahead. A great big polar bear hug.

Today and Friday: Hazy, hot and humid. High: 94

Saturday: Partly cloudy and steamy. 20% chance for an afternoon storm. High: 92
Sunday: Partly cloudy and steamy. 30% chance for scattered storms. High: 91

Monday: Partly cloudy and steamy. 20% chance for an afternoon storm. High: 91
