Cool Pictures. And Feeling Like Bill Murray.

It was "Photo Friday" again on Channel 3 Eyewitness News Today. Thanks this morning to Bill Duckett of Cleveland, TN for the first picture posted. Looks like Bill has a great kayaking buddy. I'm always amazed when I see someone's dog behaving like that. Because other than "sit", "lay down", "shake", and "roll-over", Dudley seems incapable of learning anything else. Don't get me wrong, he's lovable. Just out of control.
And thanks also to Jim Knapp of Soddy Daisy for sending this great lightning shot. Jim shot this one night looking toward Cleveland. I love lightning shots and right now the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia has a great one posted on their website. It's lightning over downtown Atlanta. Another football season is about to kick off tonight and it's going to be a steamy one. One of the fun things about this blog for me is looking back at past events, and general weather conditions. So when I look back at the post for August 19th, 2005 I have to say, "Well, same headline, new year." Last year's first Friday of football season was headlined, "Football Fans Need Fans". And looking back on that forecast, and the high of 94 for August 19th, 2005 is ditto what I'm calling for today. I think kickoff temperatures will be right near 90, after we get close to 94 this afternoon. (This is where I start hearing Sonny and Cher singing, "I Got You Babe" as the radio announcer says, "It's Groundhog Day".)
So with visions of Bill Murray and the same steamy forecast repeating endlessly here's the forecast:

Today: Hazy, hot and humid. High:94

Tonight: Fair, warm and muggy. Low: 73

Saturday: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance for an afternoon storm. High: 91

Sunday: Partly cloudy with scattered showers and storms moving in. High: 88

Monday: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance for an afternoon storm. High: 89

Tuesday: Mostly sunny and humid. High: 90

Have a great weekend! And good luck to all the high school players putting on the helmets and the pads tonight!
