Storms And Some Flooding Possible Today

A powerhouse low in Eastern Oklahoma early this morning is heading our way today through tonight. And this system will really pelt the area with rainfall, and possibly severe storms. Right now I think average rainfall amounts will end up between 2" and 4" with some Storm Alert Skywatchers possibly seeing a bit more than that. So some localized flooding will be possible this afternoon into tonight. Right now we are relatively cool and stable which should help reduce the overall severe weather threat. But there is still potential for thunderstorms capable of producing wind damage and hail this afternoon and early tonight. The highest risk for a tornado will be south of the Channel 3 viewing area, but Paul will be watching the VIPIR very closely for the potential that an isolated tornado or two pops up. This system has a punch.
