Florence Could Become Season's First Major 'Cane

Right now Florence is a one sided storm, but as this system wraps up over the next couple of days it's likely to become a fairly strong hurricane. The models all seem to like the idea of recurvature before a U.S. landfall, but anyone living along the coast from the Carolinas northward will be sleeping with one eye open as the eye of Florence develops and moves closer to the U.S.. The most likely outcome is a "fish" hurricane though.
A foggy start this morning after a cloudy and showery day yesterday. There is something about being outside on a cloudy and damp day that I enjoy. Don't get me wrong, a sunny Fall or Spring day can't be beat. But as Dudley and I were jogging near the woods yesterday, the air was sweet from the light rain and cool on the face. And as the sun set last evening, I was forced to shut the windows for the night. But they'll be back open during the daylight hours right into the upcoming weekend. Some real fine weather is in store for us. Enjoy!

Today: Mostly sunny. High: 83

Tonight: Fair skies and cool. (Full moon tonight.) Low in the city: 60

Thursday: Sunny and nice. High: 84

Friday: I going to go with mostly sunny. One of the models has some showers popping up in the Blue Ridge mountains, but right now I'm not convinced that will be the case. So we'll see what things look like tomorrow morning. High: 84

Saturday: Partly cloudy. High: 85

Sunday: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance for some showers. High: 84
