Pleasant Stretch Of Weather Ahead.

Neat picture sent in by Doug Geren. Doug and his family went hiking along the John Muir Trail, Big Bend, along the Hiawassee River to photograph the elusive Spider Lily. Hymenocallis Caroliniana is tough to find in the wild, and it's neat to learn a bit about this beautiful flower.

A quick check on the radar yesterday, and I decided to get out and get mowing before the rain moved in. I beat the showers by about 30 minutes. It wasn't so much the grass, it was the leaves I wanted to get chopped up before they got soggy. It's been dry enough that the leaves are starting to drop in my yard. It won't be long and they'll be changing colors. It has been nice to have the windows open the last few days. Yesterday as the rain began to fall, I had to shut the fan off in the living room....it was beginning to feel a bit chilly. And I may end up closing the windows later this week before morning as our lows dip down into the 50s. This is the kind of weather outdoor workers have been waiting for.

Today: Cloudy with occasional light showers. High: 80

Tonight: Mostly cloudy and a bit cooler. Low: 61

Wednesday: Clearing skies and comfortable. High: 83

Thursday: Sunny and pleasant. High: 84

Friday: Mostly sunny, warm. High: 85

Saturday: Mostly sunny, warm. High: 86
