More Pics From The Nina. Wet Weather Sails In.
I thought I'd post a few more pictures from "The Nina" taken last Thursday downtown. The crew seems to do a great job with the impromptu classroom sessions they do with the kids visiting the boat. Inside the only above deck enclosure, it is very close quarters. I'm still amazed that such a small boat could go so far, with so little in the way of men and supplies. The Nina will be downtown through the 23rd, so you have some time to check out this very accurate replica of nautical history.
Cold mornings this past weekend. Yesterday we tied a record low of 34 in Chattanooga. This morning we're waking up to temperatures some 20 degrees warmer. Two systems combine to bring us hefty rainfall totals the next 48 hours, a surface low over the Gulf, and an upper low over New Mexico. Once we pick up 1.5" to 2.5" of rain, a warm and dry Wednesday is in store for us. Then another front with scattered showers Thursday. Cooler and dry again on Friday.
