Split Weekend Ahead

Final 3 shots from the CUDA Club New Year's Day Dive.
O.K. how about a weekend without Winter weather? Sounds good to quite a few, although I think there were quite a few who enjoyed the snow two weeks ago.
We'll start with today which looks pretty good. Partly cloudy and mild this afternoon with highs into the lower 60s. Tonight clouds start to thicken with a system approaching the Gulf coast. We could see a few sprinkles by 7 am tomorrow morning, but much of the area should stay dry. It still looks like most of the rain with this storm will stay to our south, but 1/10" to 1/4" of rain could end up in rain guages from Chattanooga northward. 1/4" to 1/2" is possible from the city south to near LaFayette, Dalton and Chatsworth. More than 1/2" from Rome southward....in fact Atlanta could pick up an inch or more.
A cold front sweeps through the area Saturday night ushering in some drier, cooler air for Sunday afternoon. That should pave the way for mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 40s to low 50s.
Right now it looks dry through Tuesday with a gradual warming trend.
Have a great weekend!
