Riceville (And Most Of The Area) Iceville Since Weekend

Thanks this morning to Kristie Brock of Riceville, TN for sending this picture of her son Eric taken Saturday morning.
Brrrrrrrrrrr! Was it cold yesterday morning or what? Officially, Chattanooga's range was 22 to 31. But it dropped to 12 degrees at my house Sunday morning, and the high was only 26. All of the ice from Saturday is still there and should be until later this afternoon.
Roads have been very treacherous across the Tennessee Valley this morning with a lot of minor accidents and a handful of major ones. Things will gradually dry out and warm up later this morning and this afternoon. Tomorrow morning some light showers may scoot through south of the city but temperatures should be above freezing then. Dry weather for the rest of Tuesday. Wednesday look wet all the way through early Thursday. Many areas should see at least an inch of rain from this system. Then dry for Thursday afternoon and Friday with highs in the low to mid 50s. Another cold press of air drops into the area this weekend, but right now it appears as though moisture amounts would be non-existent. We'll keep an eye on that for you.
Right now I'm wondering if the early emerging jonquils got nipped by the cold.
