Goodbye Warmth, Hello Winter?

Winter officially begins tomorrow evening at 7:22pm EST, but it's still not going to feel very Winter-like just yet. After the last nine days at 64 or warmer, we should top out in the low 60s this afternoon. Rain arrives tonight and stays with us all the way through Saturday morning. A second system may develop in the Gulf of Mexico over the weekend bringing another round of rain Sunday evening into Sunday night and into Christmas Day. Things get complicated Monday night and into Tuesday, but right now it looks like at least the mountains around here could see some kind of winter mix. Obviously a lot can happen between now and then, but I thought it's good to let folks know there is some potential beginning to show up. We have plenty of time to evaluate and update this potential between now and then.

Today: Clouds thicken, mild. SE wind 5-10. High: 61

Tonight: Showers move in, cool. Low: 49

Thursday: Rainy & cool. South 5-10. High: 57

Thursday Night: Rainy & cool. Low: 51

Friday: Rainy periods. High: 60 Low: 49

Saturday: AM showers. High: 58 Low: 41

Sunday: Showers late. High: 54 Low: 39

Christmas Day: Showery and chilly. High: 45

Christmas Night: Showers, Mountain Snow Showers Possible. Low: 36

I tell ya, the models are driving me crazy! Last night the CMC model was showing the Gulf Low moving up through western TN into IL heading northwestward! I figured that was an outlier...and the 12z run today fortunately has come in much more line with the GFS. And the ECMWF seems to be taking it up to just off the coast of New York.
Can you post some thoughts as to what will happen? I'm thinkin' the GFS has a better grasp on the track right now...at least so I hope. I am just dying for some Christmas snow...or any snow for that matter. ;-)
